THE EXETER
BULLETIN.
The Exeter Bulletin is the magazine of Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the world's most storied schools, read by a global community of alumni, families and faculty. The goal was to move a print-first publication onto a digital platform worthy of the Academy: editorial at heart, fast on any device, and simple for the communications team to publish every issue.
A Magazine, Not a Blog
We designed the experience like a printed issue: serif headlines, confident photography and a section-by-section flow through Features, Class News & Notes, Around the Table, The Academy, Connections and more. Each issue reads as one curated publication, not an endless feed of posts.
Built for Every Kind of Story
Long-form features, alumni book reviews, class notes, regional event galleries and memorial tributes all have their own structured content types in Sanity. Editors build a whole issue from flexible, on-brand modules, and every layout stays consistent without developer support.
Fast, Headless, Built to Last
On Next.js, pages are pre-rendered and images are served through Sanity's CDN at the right size for every screen, so photography-heavy issues still load instantly. A searchable archive of past issues turns decades of Exeter storytelling into a lasting, discoverable resource.
